Montreal Through Time | Winter, Summer & Night in One Continuous Drone Shot

AirVuz contributor AerialOdysseySkies earned a Drone Video of the Week Finalist spot for this outstanding video from Montreal, Canada.  This highly creative piece was produced using waypoint programming and was filmed at three different times: a winter day, a summer day, and a summer night.  Stitched together to appear as a single continuous shot, the video starts on the left bank of the St. Lawrence River facing west towards the city's Central Business District, with the heights of Mt. Royal in the background.

Description:

This video is a continuation of my previous Winter Day-to-Night Montreal transition project. Using repeatable waypoint flights, I captured the exact same drone route during three different moments in time: Winter Day Summer Day Summer Night The footage was aligned using photogrammetry, camera reconstruction, and depth-based transitions to create a single continuous camera move through seasons and time of day. The goal was to explore how dramatically Montreal changes throughout the year and after dark while keeping the camera movement identical across all flight
