White Nights Finland | Foggy Lakes at 2 AM

Top AirVuz contributor timoksanen earned another DVOW Finalist spot for this fantastic drone video from Finland during the longest days of the year.  The video was filmed over a lake in southern Finland, which (unlike the northern part of the country) is below the Arctic Circle and does maintain a sunset (ie, the sun drops below the horizon) throughout the year.  However, during the period close to the Summer Solstice, the daylight never fully disappears, as you'll see from the portions of the video shot at 2:00AM.

In Southern Finland, summer nights never go dark — the sun sets, but the sky stays luminous until dawn. This is what 2 AM looks like.

A cinematic drone journey through a full summer day in the Finnish Lakeland: from the golden light of late evening through sunset and into the ethereal stillness of a white night, when mist rises from the water and the sky glows long after midnight.
