Roman Eclipse

Check out this stunning drone video of the partial solar eclipse in Rome Italy that occurred on August 12, 2026, compliments of top AirVuz contributor Mauro Pagliai.  He managed to film the eclipse, which occurred just before sunset and which covered nearly 70% of the sun, from a filming location just east of St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City.  Just before its scheduled occurrence, it began raining in Rome (for the first time in weeks), but fortunately the rain cleared just minutes before the moon moved in front of the sun.

Description:

After two months of clear skies and sweltering heat, Rome decided it was finally time for rain — right during the eclipse. But just before sunset, the eclipse still decided to make an appearance and say hello to the most beautiful city in the world.
