Check out this fantastic drone video from Kazakhstan by top contributor be_mesmerized.  The video was filmed over the region of Mangystau, which covers the southwestern portion of this giant Central Asian republic.  As you'll see in the video, the landscape here is other-wordly, with spectacular rock formations rising hundreds of feet above the desert floor.  This part of the country is extremely lightly populated: most of its population of about 750k lives along the Caspian Sea to the west, with much of the interior virtually uninhabited.
