Fogo Volcano, Cape Verde | Cinematic Drone Footage in 4K

Top AirVuz contributor cristiantowers earned a Drone Video of the Week Finalist spot for this outstanding drone video of the Pico do Fogo volcano in the North African island nation of Cape Verde.  The active stratovolcano is located on the island of Fogo, one of ten islands which make up the archipelago country.  The volcano has a summit of about 9.3k ft. above sea level (around 2.8k m), the highest spot in Cape Verde.  The volcano erupts fairly regularly (most recently in 2014), although the last eruption of the main cone was in 1680.

Description:

I visited Cape Verde in 2026 to explore the breathtaking landscapes of Fogo Island, home to the country's highest peak and one of the most remarkable active volcanoes in the Atlantic. This cinematic drone film captures the dramatic beauty of Chã das Caldeiras from above. With Cape Verde recently making history by qualifying for the FIFA World Cup for the first time, it felt like the perfect moment to share one of the country's most extraordinary islands.
